Remote Sr. Staff Software Engineer

Description:

• The Sr. Staff Software Engineer will join the Platform Engineering team at Matterport.
• Responsibilities include leading the design, implementation, and deployment of new features and services.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, engineers, and QA.
• Build APIs, backend services, and integrations supporting Matterport products.
• Advocate for good engineering practices and produce maintainable, well-documented code.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, work with relational and non-relational data stores.
• Develop features and services using server-side Kotlin, Python, and front-end technologies.
• Drive multiple technical projects from start to finish in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 12+ years of experience designing and delivering features and services in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Kotlin for developing SaaS solutions.
• Familiarity with Linux, MySQL or PostgreSQL, Git, and FoundationDB.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in platform development.
• Experience with UI frameworks like React or Angular, microservices, and containers.
• Track record of developing testable, maintainable code and ability to work in an agile environment.
