Description:
We are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer who will provide technical leadership across our core engineering experience teams.
In this role, you will articulate a vision and drive execution regarding cloud resource automation and operations.
You will participate in designing and building new cloud technologies and an API management system.
This role includes working in consultation with the Engineering Experience teams, the broader NBCU developer population, and engineering leadership to deliver the best services, tools, and processes.
A key aspect of this role is working with engineering teams and leadership to ensure development teams are appropriately equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools required to perform their job effectively.
The ideal candidate is innovative and interested in building new technologies while teaching others along the way.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, experience, and training in Computer Science or a related field is required.
You must have 12+ years of experience in public cloud infrastructure and tools, software development, and automation.
Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or an equivalent is necessary.
Strong, proven proficiency with AWS, especially with core services such as Lambda and ECS, along with experience with AWS best practices and familiarity with a broad range of AWS tools and services is required.
You should have the ability to provide mentorship to grow the technical skills and careers of others, considering their career stage and personal trajectory.
A passion for DevOps culture, automation, and modern tooling is essential.
Effective communication skills are required, with the ability to adapt your communication style depending on the audience, including technical teams, business teams, and leadership teams.
Basic familiarity with cloud platforms Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
Experience in end-to-end API Gateway development, particularly with Kong, is desired.
Strong networking skills and experience with F5 BIG-IP and Cloudflare are highly desirable.
Experience with modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests is required, with continuous delivery experience preferred.
You should have experience delivering software using an agile development process.
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills are necessary to effectively connect with both business and technical teams.
The ability to work and participate in a team with an open and collaborative style of communication is important.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team is required.

The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $210,000 and it is bonus eligible.
