Description:

The position is for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Machine Learning, located in San José, Costa Rica.
This is a full-time, experienced role that is remote and available for candidates in Costa Rica and Colombia.
The responsibilities include building training and labeling tooling and infrastructure, supporting data labeling, training, and deployment efforts, developing domain-adapted model architectures and hyperparameters, and exploring new machine learning approaches to address business problems and opportunities.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3 or more years of experience in either academia or industry.
A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline is required.
Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Pytorch or Tensorflow is necessary.
Applicants should have taken the initiative to improve aspects of a deep learning pipeline, including dataset construction and curation, model design and iteration, and validation design and implementation.
The ideal candidate enjoys building user-friendly tooling and is willing to assist others in using these tools through helpful documentation.
A value for humility and a willingness to seek out corrective feedback is essential, whether from unexpected learning behaviors or domain-specific insights from experts.
Candidates should be proactive in seeking promising new developments in machine learning while judiciously assessing long-term cost/benefit tradeoffs before implementing significant changes.
