Sonatus, a fast-growing company, is seeking a Sr. System Test Engineer - Automation EH for a contract position in Toronto, Canada (Remote).
The company specializes in technologies and software for software-defined vehicles, with solutions already deployed with a top global OEM.
The successful candidate will collaborate with diverse teams to define testing strategies, develop and execute test plans, triage integration issues, and escalate potential problems to the Project Manager/Executive team.
Responsibilities include tracking testing activities, identifying areas for improvement, and acting as the gatekeeper for each release.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5-8 years of experience in embedded software, proficiency in test methodologies, familiarity with Linux command line and shell scripting, strong networking fundamentals, cybersecurity experience, and more.
The salary range for the position is $88,500 - $119,500 CAD per year.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in embedded software in data center, networking, security, cloud services, or the automotive industry.
Proficient in test methodologies with experience in system-level testing of physical devices.
Familiarity with Linux command line and proficiency in shell scripting.
Strong networking fundamentals, network configuration and bring-up experience, coupled with cybersecurity experience.
Experience with debugging networking switching and routing protocols and usage of packet monitoring tools like tcpdump, wireshark or similar products.
Understanding of automotive networking infrastructure and transitions from LIN, CAN, CAN FD to Ethernet.
Review and challenge product requirements, design, and functional specifications.
Ability to develop, review, and modify Python scripts to enhance test coverage.
Experience with designing and implementing test tools for automation.
Experience with embedded system bring-up is a plus.
Familiarity with common test frameworks such as PyTest, Behave, or similar.
Experience with test tools like Vector CANoe, VehicleSpy, PEAK, Spirent, IXIA, or similar products.
Proficiency in JIRA, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
