Description:
AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join their Transportation team in Michigan, Illinois, or North Carolina, focusing on traffic analysis and modeling.
This position offers remote working flexibility, allowing employees to work both in the office and at home with a multidisciplinary statewide traffic team.
Responsibilities include leading a team of junior engineers, mentoring and guiding them, performing traffic engineering studies, presenting technical findings, and coordinating workload projections.
The role also involves collaborating with other discipline leads in Michigan for business development activities and assisting in setting and accomplishing professional development goals for direct reports.
Requirements:
Minimum requirement of a BA/BS degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
Preferred qualifications include 6+ years of traffic engineering experience, proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, and HCS software, and a Professional Engineer license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
Candidates should have expertise in microsimulation and modeling of transportation, familiarity with Highway Capacity Manual and FHWA Traffic Analysis Toolkit methodologies, and experience in traffic safety analysis.
Strong communication skills, project management experience, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external clients are also required.
