Description:

  • AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join their Transportation team in Michigan, Illinois, or North Carolina, focusing on traffic analysis and modeling.
  • This position offers remote working flexibility, allowing employees to work both in the office and at home with a multidisciplinary statewide traffic team.
  • Responsibilities include leading a team of junior engineers, mentoring and guiding them, performing traffic engineering studies, presenting technical findings, and coordinating workload projections.
  • The role also involves collaborating with other discipline leads in Michigan for business development activities and assisting in setting and accomplishing professional development goals for direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement of a BA/BS degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include 6+ years of traffic engineering experience, proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, and HCS software, and a Professional Engineer license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • Candidates should have expertise in microsimulation and modeling of transportation, familiarity with Highway Capacity Manual and FHWA Traffic Analysis Toolkit methodologies, and experience in traffic safety analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, project management experience, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external clients are also required.
