SAM Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong experience in back-end development, TypeScript, AWS services, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
The role involves maintaining and extending the backend codebase, enhancing backend architecture, designing scalable solutions, and implementing infrastructure best practices with a focus on performance and security.
This is a fully remote position reporting to the Lead Developer and Director of Product.
Responsibilities include architecting and developing backend services, collaborating cross-functionally, designing and implementing APIs, managing databases, and optimizing performance.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in backend development, focusing on TypeScript and/or JavaScript, with extensive experience in AWS services.
Proficiency in AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Cognito, SQS, and AppSync is required.
Proven experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly in optimizing data models for MySQL and DynamoDB, is essential.
An advanced understanding of serverless infrastructure and deployment using the Serverless Framework is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Terraform and Terragrunt for managing infrastructure as code is required.
Candidates should be proficient in building and maintaining RESTful (NestJS) and GraphQL APIs.
Knowledge of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices is important, along with a commitment to code quality.
Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like Git for version control is expected.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a fully-remote team, are essential.
