Description:

• The Senior Web Engineer is responsible for bringing creativity and agility to help Foxbox clients build indispensable products.
• You will elevate an existing PHP web application by integrating diverse systems, mapping out its future state, and driving strategic improvements.
• In this client-facing role, you will work directly with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide expert technical recommendations, and guide the product roadmap.
• You will ensure the application remains robust, scalable, and aligned with clients’ evolving needs while mentoring team members and fostering an innovative environment.
• You will collaborate with other developers, product owners, and designers to create a fully functional and visually appealing product.

• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a high-performance PHP Laravel web application with a focus on quality, scalability, and security.
• You will provide technical guidance to product owners, designers, and developers to drive high-quality software delivery.
• Participation in code reviews, design discussions, and client meetings is expected, actively seeking feedback to improve relationships and development processes.
• You will troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software to improve functionality and performance.
• Writing and maintaining robust unit tests using PHPUnit to ensure code reliability and facilitate smooth deployments is required.
• You will ensure best practices for security and data protection solutions within the system architecture.
• Prioritizing and assessing feature requests while balancing technical feasibility with business needs is part of the role.
• Staying up to date with backend development trends and technologies, evaluating multiple solutions, and assessing trade-offs to make informed decisions is necessary.
• You will collaborate with stakeholders, distilling complex technical concepts into clear, actionable work items.
• Accurately logging billable and non-billable hours daily to support project tracking and client billing is required.
• Identifying opportunities to collaborate with other team members across Foxbox is encouraged.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• You must have 7+ years of experience in PHP development.
• Proven expertise in the Laravel framework and its ecosystem for 3+ years is necessary.
• A solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts is required.
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL and ORM frameworks such as Eloquent is essential.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is needed.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining unit tests using PHPUnit or similar PHP testing frameworks is required.
• Proven experience in developing, maintaining, and optimizing PHP web applications is necessary.
• Strong proficiency in systems integration, including working with RESTful APIs and third-party services, is required.
• You must demonstrate the ability to analyze existing products, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, are required.
• The ability to work independently while also guiding and mentoring team members is necessary.
• Comfort in developing backend features and implementing frontend UIs based on mockups is required.
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies is necessary.
• Prior experience working in a professional services or consulting environment is required.
• Fluency in English is a must.
