Description:

  • Ninety is seeking an SRE Engineering Lead to lead multiple engineering teams and report to the Head of Engineering (Platform).
  • The role involves designing and automating cloud-native platforms using AWS, ECS, and serverless architectures, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Responsibilities include driving system reliability through advanced monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization to ensure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) are met.
  • The SRE Lead will collaborate with development teams to integrate best practices in automation, security, and scalability for maintaining highly available and resilient systems.
  • Key responsibilities include leadership and mentorship of software engineers, overseeing software solution design and deployment, driving a culture of continuous delivery, collaborating with stakeholders, problem-solving technical challenges, implementing quality assurance processes, monitoring application performance, and fostering continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • A growth mindset and a strong balance between perfection and pragmatism are essential.
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps roles with a strong track record of improving system reliability and performance is required.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and tech stacks, such as Golang, C#, Python, and JavaScript, is necessary.
  • Expert-level proficiency in AWS and familiarity with services like ECS and serverless architectures is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform, is essential.
  • Extensive experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) is needed.
  • Candidates must have a proven ability to define and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and other reliability metrics.
  • Experience in building and operating distributed systems and SaaS applications is required.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, along with excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset, are necessary.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies is preferred.
