Description:
Brightwheel is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to join their remote team in the US.
The mission is to enable high-quality early education for every child by providing tools for teachers, engaging parents, and supporting small businesses in the early education market.
The role involves building and maintaining the data layer for the analytics stack, combining responsibilities of a data engineer and data analyst.
Responsibilities include writing SQL in dbt, designing and building data models, improving organizational capacity through data discovery tools, and troubleshooting existing data models and reports.
Candidates should be passionate about data, possess deep SQL, scripting, and data modeling skills, and be able to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, or data analyst.
A minimum of 4+ years of advanced SQL scripting experience is required, with a proven ability to optimize complex SQL queries.
At least 3+ years of experience coding in dbt or similar transformation tools is necessary.
Strong data discovery and analytical skills are essential to manage complex business data requirements.
Excellent communication skills with both business and technical stakeholders are required.
A track record of requirements gathering, solutioning, and documenting data models is necessary.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of data quality and testing methodologies.
Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting ETL pipelines within Airflow/Python is required.
Experience working with GTM teams and third-party tools such as Salesforce or Hubspot is preferred.
