The role of Backend Staff Engineer involves setting technical standards for the Backend in the consumer domain, leading Backend engineers, driving tech roadmaps, making architecture decisions, and overseeing feature development and release cycles.
Responsibilities include mentoring junior developers, scaling up Backend engineers in multiple squads, and conducting technical interviews.
The position involves designing, building, and maintaining features for domain applications, providing technical leadership, managing dependencies, conducting design and code reviews, and helping team members with technical blockers.
The role also includes participating in architecture and design discussions, contributing to the technical roadmap, conducting technical interviews, and improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
The Staff Back-End Engineer will own projects related to feasibility studies, intellectual property submission, technology research, software development, technical expertise application, code assessment and improvement, software application management, and technical leadership.

Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in backend engineering with NodeJS.
Strong foundation in programming fundamentals and excellent communication skills.
Enjoy problem-solving and helping others achieve their goals.
Solid understanding of X, substantial experience with Git in a team environment, and experience writing testable code and unit tests.
Experience in a fast-growing startup in the on-demand services space is a plus.
Deep knowledge of React and NodeJS, with experience developing products using these technologies.
Experience with modern JavaScript and tooling in a full-stack setting, as well as extensive experience with A/B experiments and a data-driven approach to product development.
