Remote Staff Back-End Engineer (South America)

Description:

• Looking for a Back-End Staff Software Engineer (Full-Time Contractor) based in South America to join the mission of helping people learn.
• Opportunity to work with a collaborative team to drive technology for learning products and platforms.
• Staff Engineer will provide technical guidance, mentorship, and shape the vision of complex systems.
• Full-time remote position with a focus on enhancing the experience for tutors and optimizing the tutor-supply chain.
• The Engagement team focuses on student customer-facing systems, architecting scalable software solutions for impactful learning experiences.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience with a track record in complex systems.
• Proficiency in one of the core languages: Go, Ruby, Python (preference for Go).
• Experience mentoring senior-level engineers and working in AWS or GCP cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectures.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, solve complex technical challenges, and drive team development.
• Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to code, and implement customer-facing solutions that meet true needs.
