Description:
Webflow is seeking a highly skilled Staff Backend Engineer to join the Service Provider Success team.
The role involves working on critical engineering projects that impact the Webflow Marketplace and empower partners and creators.
Responsibilities include architecting, designing, and implementing scalable multi-tenant backend services and APIs.
The position requires proficiency in technologies such as Node.js, Javascript/Typescript, Next.js, MongoDB, GraphQL, Apollo, and AWS.
The engineer will lead projects that contribute to team and engineering deliverables and produce high-quality, maintainable code.
Collaboration with product managers and designers in a supportive team environment is essential.
The role includes mentoring junior engineers and participating in engineering citizenship activities.
The position is remote-first, full-time, and permanent, reporting to the Engineering Manager, SP Success.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in developing and deploying web applications with a proven track record of shipping code that addresses business challenges.
Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and Next.js is required, along with the ability to design and write scalable services and APIs using Express.js and MongoDB.
Experience in debugging production issues across complex, multi-service architectures is necessary.
Candidates should have a background in building complex web systems that scale efficiently while providing a seamless user experience.
Familiarity with Stripe and/or billing systems for secure payment processing solutions is required.
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, or Cypress is preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable working in an agile environment and possess a growth mindset.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for thriving in a cross-functional team.
Experience in leading or mentoring other engineers is required, along with a product-focused approach to balance technical excellence with business outcomes.
