Brandwatch is seeking a passionate Staff Backend Engineer to join their Data & Channel Management Team.
The team is critical to the Brandwatch platform and works within the wider Data Ingestion Group to provide reliable access to high-quality data at scale.
The role involves working as part of an agile engineering team of 5 engineers with clear ownership over critical platform services.
Responsibilities include planning long-term system-level changes, collaborating with other teams to create solutions, mentoring other developers, and delivering elegant, scalable, self-testing, well-documented code.
Continuous self-development and bringing new ideas to the team while learning from colleagues is encouraged.

Requirements:

Candidates must have solid knowledge of Java and the Spring Framework.
A thorough understanding of SQL databases is required.
Good understanding of containerization systems like Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
Experience with Kafka or similar technology is expected.
Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud is a significant plus.
Fluency in the English language is mandatory.
This position is only available to candidates currently residing in Hungary.
