Description:
ClickUp is seeking a driven Staff Software Engineer to join the Core Services team.
The role involves designing and delivering scalable distributed shared services used by other engineering teams.
Responsibilities include building upon and integrating customer feedback into API tooling and services.
The engineer will create new architectural foundations and mission-critical distributed systems while collaborating with other teams.
The position requires working within an agile scrum-based engineering team and reporting to the Senior Manager of Core Services.
The engineer must uphold high levels of customer satisfaction in all tasks.
The role includes advocating, creating, and maintaining API governance across engineering through collaboration, automation, and outreach.
The engineer will own integration within the API Gateway layer and manage API lifecycles from design to production.
Identifying improvements to the design and implementation of various new and existing critical shared services is also a key responsibility.
The engineer will help grow the infrastructure engineering organization's shared services relied upon by other engineering teams to accelerate product development.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
A strong understanding of API standards, design approaches, and integration patterns is necessary.
Candidates must have a strong understanding of CAP Theorem and distributed systems design patterns.
A strong understanding of Kafka and related event-based patterns is required.
Proficiency in TypeScript is essential.
Excellent communication skills are a must.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability is expected.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of developer experience in everything they build.
A pragmatic approach to software design, development, and delivery is desirable.
Experience working with and designing Backend for Frontend (BFF) patterns is also a plus.
