Description:

ClickUp is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for their Data Platform team in Canada.
The role involves leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly scalable, high-quality backend APIs and services.
The engineer will work closely with product managers, software engineers, and product designers to define product requirements and business impact.
Responsibilities include collaborating with other engineers to deliver complex backend features, troubleshooting significant errors and performance issues, and mentoring other engineers.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the entire software stack and be able to represent and help craft a strategic vision for the data platform.
The team focuses on scalability and performance to support the hyper-growth of ClickUp's productivity platform, utilizing technologies such as Typescript and PostgreSQL on AWS.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in developing and maintaining production data pipelines or data platforms.
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is essential.
Experience with relational databases at scale and familiarity with AWS or other major cloud services is required.
Proficiency in TypeScript or other popular programming languages is necessary.
Strong communication skills and a team player mentality are important.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability is expected from candidates.
