Remote Staff Backend Engineer, Enterprise Workflows

Description:

• Webflow is a visual web development platform that allows non-coders to create web experiences.
• The Enterprise Workflows team builds and maintains collaboration features for larger teams.
• The Staff Backend Engineer will ensure teams can build and launch sites quickly without sacrificing quality or security.
• Responsibilities include architecting, designing, and implementing scalable multi-tenant backend services and APIs.
• The role involves working with technologies such as Node.js, Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, GraphQL, Apollo, AWS, and Kafka.
• The engineer will lead projects, produce high-quality code, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaboration with product managers and designers in a supportive team environment is essential.
• The position is full-time, permanent, and remote, with compensation based on geographic location.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in developing and deploying web applications.
• Familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript is required, along with the ability to write scalable services and APIs using Express.js and MongoDB.
• Experience in leading and mentoring other software engineers is necessary.
• Candidates should be able to debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
• Proven experience in building complex web systems is essential.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, or Cypress is required.
• Comfort in working in an agile, safe-to-fail environment is expected.
