Remote Staff Backend Engineer (Go)

Description:

• As a Staff Backend Engineer at Netlify, you will be part of a globally distributed team focused on building a better web by delivering fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• You will be responsible for developing and operating the content delivery network that serves customer sites, ensuring high availability and low latency.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to improve scalability and observability of the platform.
• Join the on-call rotation to address technical debt and enhance reliability.
• Work in a blameless culture where problem-solving is a team effort and contribute to the continuous growth and learning of the team.
• Engage in asynchronous communication and documentation practices to drive developer productivity and innovation.
• Have one-on-one sessions and pairing with team members to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• Must have experience developing production-level Golang.
• Demonstrated history of delivering product features and deploying services under high traffic conditions (100k - 1M rps).
• Familiarity with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Redis, and observability tools such as Datadog and Humio.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, distributed team environment.
• Comfortable thriving in an environment that values experimentation and celebrates failure.
