Description:
- The Data Engineering Team at Varo is crucial in building innovative banking products to enhance customers' financial well-being.
- As a Staff Cloud Database Engineer, you will oversee cloud database services, drive the vision for enterprise database systems, and mentor team members.
- Responsibilities include understanding database requirements, capacity planning, architecture consultation, resolving database issues, and providing operational support.
- You will also conduct database training, monitor database performance, and address performance issues and bottlenecks.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Python programming experience.
- 8+ years of Postgres Database Administration experience on RDS.
- 5+ years of AWS Redshift Database Administration experience.
- 5+ years of systems administration experience in a Linux environment.
- 5+ years of experience with AWS services like IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, DMS.
- Strong understanding of distributed computing environments.
- Expertise in database administration activities such as installation, configuration, backup & recovery, query optimizations, and resolving deadlocks.
- Proficiency in query analyzers, query tuning, and implementing replication models.
- Experience in handling database maintenance with minimal downtime.
