Description:
Tala is seeking a Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain innovative infrastructure and applications in AWS public cloud environments.
The role requires a DevOps mindset and adherence to best practices, applying expertise in cloud-native infrastructure and automation to create solutions for seamless deployment, monitoring, and automated remediation.
Responsibilities include automating infrastructure and platform services in AWS using IaC tools like Terraform, designing and managing continuous deployment with Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and Jenkins, and monitoring applications and services.
The engineer will be part of the on-call rotation to resolve issues and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences.
The role also involves configuring and managing observability tools such as Instana, SumoLogic, and Datadog for application performance monitoring and alert integration with Slack and PagerDuty.
Collaboration with engineering teams to develop and deploy systems is essential, as well as participating in on-call support with a global team.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5-7 years of total experience in DevOps and infrastructure automation, with at least 4 years specifically in cloud infrastructure automation, preferably in AWS.
A strong understanding of modern microservices-based cloud architecture is required.
Prior experience working closely with Product, Engineering, and SecOps on shift-left strategies and CI/CD tools is necessary.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments is essential.
Familiarity with continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins or ArgoCD is required.
Candidates should have experience with logging and monitoring tools like Sumo, Splunk, and Datadog.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to document and explain technical details clearly.
Flexibility to assist across programs and teams is important, as well as strong influence and teamwork skills.
Candidates should possess sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating, and decision-making skills.
Experience working effectively with global teams across multiple time zones is required.
A B.S. Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of professional development training and experience is necessary.
