Description:

  • The Ladder engineering team is seeking a GCP cloud operations engineer to enhance life insurance services.
  • This role involves working on the underlying infrastructure and services critical to customer operations.
  • Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on GCP for optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • The engineer will manage compute, storage, and networking resources to support Ladder’s applications.
  • Development and implementation of terraform scripts to streamline tasks and improve efficiency are required.
  • The role includes setting up monitoring tools to track GCP service performance and proactively resolving issues.
  • Collaboration with development and IT teams is essential to troubleshoot incidents and minimize downtime.
  • The engineer will monitor cloud resource usage for cost-saving opportunities and implement optimizations.
  • Backup and disaster recovery plans must be developed and maintained to ensure data availability.
  • Staying updated with emerging cloud technologies and implementing security best practices is crucial.
  • This position is remote, available in 22 states including CA, TX, and NY.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience with cloud operations, specifically GCP, is essential.
  • Expertise in deploying, monitoring, and scaling services on GCP, with a deep understanding of its infrastructure as a service offerings, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with standard observability tools such as Grafana, DataDog, and Sentry is required.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are needed, with a proven ability to maintain and improve GCP infrastructure.
