The Ladder engineering team is seeking a GCP cloud operations engineer to enhance life insurance services.
This role involves working on the underlying infrastructure and services critical to customer operations.
Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on GCP for optimal performance, security, and scalability.
The engineer will manage compute, storage, and networking resources to support Ladder’s applications.
Development and implementation of terraform scripts to streamline tasks and improve efficiency are required.
The role includes setting up monitoring tools to track GCP service performance and proactively resolving issues.
Collaboration with development and IT teams is essential to troubleshoot incidents and minimize downtime.
The engineer will monitor cloud resource usage for cost-saving opportunities and implement optimizations.
Backup and disaster recovery plans must be developed and maintained to ensure data availability.
Staying updated with emerging cloud technologies and implementing security best practices is crucial.
This position is remote, available in 22 states including CA, TX, and NY.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years of practical experience with cloud operations, specifically GCP, is essential.
Expertise in deploying, monitoring, and scaling services on GCP, with a deep understanding of its infrastructure as a service offerings, is necessary.
Familiarity with standard observability tools such as Grafana, DataDog, and Sentry is required.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are needed, with a proven ability to maintain and improve GCP infrastructure.
