Description:

The Staff Cyber Security Engineer will be part of the NBCU Security Architecture team.
This role involves partnering with various NBCUniversal businesses, enterprise IT, and the Cyber Security organization to ensure secure technology design and deployment.
The engineer will conduct security and threat analysis of business and enterprise initiatives involving new or modified technology deployments.
Responsibilities include incorporating Information Security best practices and guidelines into system designs.
The individual will serve as a technical and engineering subject matter expert across various Cyber Security technology areas, focusing on network, application, cloud, and enterprise security controls.
Collaboration across the Cyber organization and partnership with business stakeholders will be essential to provide security guidance and mitigation requirements.
The successful candidate will communicate the importance of key Cyber programs and services to gain support and trust from the business.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience partnering with business and technical teams to architect and deliver Cyber solutions.
A minimum of 8+ years of experience consulting with business teams on threat mitigation best practices in technical areas such as Perimeter Security, Application Security, Core Systems, EDR, and Cloud.
The ability to explain common threats to components including Network, Cloud, Web, and Application environments is required.
Knowledge of best practices in the Cyber Security industry, including OWASP Top 10 and CWE/SANS Top 25, is essential.
Candidates should possess advanced technical knowledge in at least one Cyber security area and demonstrate the ability to navigate complex challenges.
The ability to give and receive constructive feedback in a team environment is necessary.
Willingness to mentor junior team members is expected.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to tailor messages to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in developing and documenting security guidelines or best practices is needed.
Proficiency in using diagramming tools to communicate secure designs and controls is required.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize multiple concurrent projects are essential.

This position is fully remote, allowing employees to work from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, typically their residence.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $155,000 and is bonus eligible.
