Description:
As a Staff Data Engineer, you will champion data quality and best practices within Sojern's Business Systems Engineering Team.
You will oversee end-to-end testing of our pipelines and ensure that necessary alerts are in place.
Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive test plans and documenting test cases for upcoming initiatives.
You will collaborate with various teams and leverage your cross-channel expertise to contribute to process improvements and streamlined workflows.
You will conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover valuable insights and trends, supporting strategic decision-making.
You will develop and maintain complex data models to effectively represent and analyze diverse datasets.
You will ensure data integrity and accuracy through rigorous quality checks and validation processes.
You will identify and resolve data-related challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
You will develop and implement data automation processes to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
You will stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and trends, exploring opportunities to leverage them for competitive advantage.
You will serve as the technical lead for a small team of engineers.
Requirements:
You must have strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and other relevant data analysis/engineering tools.
A self-directed work ethic is essential; you will be expected to drive your own ideas without micromanagement.
You should maintain a positive attitude each day and support your team through training and ad hoc help.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, balance multiple priorities, and collaborate with remote offices.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are necessary.
You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working with data science teams is required.
You must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery, is a nice to have.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a nice to have.
Experience with Celigo or other iPaaS vendor is a nice to have.
