Description:

  • As a Staff Data Engineer, you will champion data quality and best practices within Sojern's Business Systems Engineering Team.
  • You will oversee end-to-end testing of our pipelines and ensure that necessary alerts are in place.
  • Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive test plans and documenting test cases for upcoming initiatives.
  • You will collaborate with various teams and leverage your cross-channel expertise to contribute to process improvements and streamlined workflows.
  • You will conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover valuable insights and trends, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • You will develop and maintain complex data models to effectively represent and analyze diverse datasets.
  • You will ensure data integrity and accuracy through rigorous quality checks and validation processes.
  • You will identify and resolve data-related challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
  • You will develop and implement data automation processes to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • You will stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and trends, exploring opportunities to leverage them for competitive advantage.
  • You will serve as the technical lead for a small team of engineers.

Requirements:

  • You must have strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and other relevant data analysis/engineering tools.
  • A self-directed work ethic is essential; you will be expected to drive your own ideas without micromanagement.
  • You should maintain a positive attitude each day and support your team through training and ad hoc help.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, balance multiple priorities, and collaborate with remote offices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are necessary.
  • You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with data science teams is required.
  • You must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery, is a nice to have.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a nice to have.
  • Experience with Celigo or other iPaaS vendor is a nice to have.
