Description:

  • Ubiminds is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to work on key projects involving the code infrastructure.
  • The Staff Data Engineer will be responsible for expanding and optimizing the data and data pipeline architecture.
  • They will optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams and design and optimize data architecture to support company growth.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience in a data engineering role and a strong track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.
  • Mandatory skills include advanced English proficiency, being based in Latin America, experience with Scala and Python, Apache Spark, Elastic MapReduce (EMR), Spark Streaming, Kafka, Luigi, Redshift, Spectrum, Athena, MySQL, AWS ecosystems, data modeling, storage, retrieval best practices, distributed systems, CI/CD tools, Docker, Kubernetes, Databricks, and automated data synchronization.
  • Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with Google Analytics/GBQ and Tableau.
  • Non-technical skills required are a sense of humor and excellent communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Advanced English skills.
  • Based in Latin America.
  • Experience in a data engineering role with a strong track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.
  • Professional experience with GitHub and version control best practices.
  • Proficiency in Scala and Python for developing and maintaining scalable data solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Apache Spark, Elastic MapReduce (EMR), Spark Streaming, Kafka, and Luigi.
  • Knowledge of Redshift, Spectrum, Athena, MySQL, and AWS ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, storage, retrieval best practices, and distributed systems at scale.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, Docker, Kubernetes, Databricks, and automated data synchronization.
  • Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with Google Analytics/GBQ and Tableau.
  • Non-technical skills required are a sense of humor and excellent communication skills.
