Prepared is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join their platform engineering team.
The company focuses on revolutionizing emergency call handling using cutting-edge technology and Artificial Intelligence.
The role involves establishing and developing data infrastructure from scratch.
The position offers the opportunity to work in a small, growing engineering team and make a significant impact with autonomy.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, collaborating with various teams, optimizing data storage solutions, ensuring data quality and security, developing ETL processes, and managing data models.
The role also involves shaping Prepared's engineering culture.
Requirements:
Must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering with a data focus, or a related role.
Knowledge of designing data pipelines from various sources like streaming, flat files, and APIs.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Experience with real-time data processing frameworks like Apache Kafka and Spark Streaming.
Strong programming skills in data-focused languages like Python.
Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow and Prefect.
Experience with AWS-based data solutions and data warehousing technologies like Redshift and Snowflake.
Ability to document data dependency maps and data lineage.
Strong communication, collaboration, and independent work skills.
Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Benefits:
Base pay of $200,000–$240,000 per year + company equity.
