Description:

  • Jobgether is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the development and optimization of data lakehouse solutions focused on insurance data in the United States.
  • The role involves designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • The engineer will guide other engineers in best practices for data integrity, modeling, and compliance.
  • Responsibilities include transforming complex insurance-related data into actionable insights for enterprise reporting, decision-making, and compliance.
  • Key accountabilities include designing and developing end-to-end data solutions within a modern lakehouse architecture (Databricks), leading data modeling for complex insurance data, and collaborating with various stakeholders on data projects.
  • The engineer will ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and GLBA.
  • Mentoring data engineers, reviewing code and architecture, and implementing metadata catalogs and access controls are also part of the role.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in data engineering with expertise in SQL, Python, and cloud-based lakehouse environments.
  • A deep understanding of data architecture, pipeline orchestration, and database design is required.
  • Proven experience working with insurance or financial services data and designing custom data models is essential.
  • The ability to lead technical projects while aligning with business objectives and stakeholder needs is necessary.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, including mentorship and cross-team collaboration, are required.
  • Experience with data quality, testing standards, and compliance requirements in regulated industries is important.
  • Familiarity with tools like Databricks, Airflow, and modern data orchestration frameworks is preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to live and work full-time in one of the specified states in the U.S.
