Description:
Jobgether is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the development and optimization of data lakehouse solutions focused on insurance data in the United States.
The role involves designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and working closely with cross-functional teams.
The engineer will guide other engineers in best practices for data integrity, modeling, and compliance.
Responsibilities include transforming complex insurance-related data into actionable insights for enterprise reporting, decision-making, and compliance.
Key accountabilities include designing and developing end-to-end data solutions within a modern lakehouse architecture (Databricks), leading data modeling for complex insurance data, and collaborating with various stakeholders on data projects.
The engineer will ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and GLBA.
Mentoring data engineers, reviewing code and architecture, and implementing metadata catalogs and access controls are also part of the role.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in data engineering with expertise in SQL, Python, and cloud-based lakehouse environments.
A deep understanding of data architecture, pipeline orchestration, and database design is required.
Proven experience working with insurance or financial services data and designing custom data models is essential.
The ability to lead technical projects while aligning with business objectives and stakeholder needs is necessary.
Strong communication and leadership skills, including mentorship and cross-team collaboration, are required.
Experience with data quality, testing standards, and compliance requirements in regulated industries is important.
Familiarity with tools like Databricks, Airflow, and modern data orchestration frameworks is preferred.
Candidates must be able to live and work full-time in one of the specified states in the U.S.
