As the first Data Platform Engineer, you will establish the foundation of data processing capabilities to improve strategic vision and product decision-making.

The role involves collaborating with senior leadership, product managers, engineers, and designers to design and implement effective data strategies and architectures.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's or Ph.D. is a plus.
At least 3 years of experience in data platform implementation, use, and management is required.
A total of 5 years of experience in engineering or technical operations is necessary.
Strong understanding of data architecture and data modeling is essential.
Expertise in SQL and relational databases is required.
Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration techniques is necessary.
Experience with data warehousing solutions like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake is required.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript is necessary.
Experience with cloud providers and cloud-native technologies like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is required.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
Experience with version control systems like Git is required.
Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards related to the DoD is advantageous but not required.
Experience with data analytics and visualization is a plus.
Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts is beneficial.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.
A bias towards action with strong problem-solving abilities is required.
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
