Description:

The Trustly Americas team is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join their growing team in Vitória, Espírito Santo.
The role involves developing new statistical models to mitigate fraud and funds availability risk.
Responsibilities include conducting analysis to measure model performance, comparing performance across multiple models, and influencing model strategy and selection decisions.
The candidate will deploy risk models in the Trustly production system and analyze raw source data to develop risk model features in partnership with engineering.
The position also requires supporting the development and maintenance of risk modeling infrastructure and creating data-driven and intuition-driven fraud prevention rules.
Ad-hoc analysis on specific risk issues and potential mitigations will be performed, along with developing risk-specific reporting to monitor merchants and rule performance.

Requirements:

Candidates must have strong experience with Data Science and risk experience in financial services or a similar industry.
A university degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, or a comparable field of study is required.
Strong experience in developing statistical/machine learning models and tests is essential.
Advanced skills in Python and strong to advanced SQL skills are necessary.
Understanding of feature engineering and the model development process is required.
Knowledge in GraphDB is preferred.
Solid English skills are mandatory to communicate effectively with English-speaking business stakeholders.
