Remote Staff DevOps Engineer at SamCart

Description:

SamCart is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to join their remote team.
The role involves refining, implementing, and educating on practices across SamCart’s cloud infrastructure in AWS and GCP.
Responsibilities include maintaining application uptime, participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation, and collaborating with engineering teams.
The engineer will design, build, and operate cloud-based infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes in AWS.
The position requires support for a multi-tenant web application and simplifying the microservices architecture.
The engineer will perform various DevOps functions, including system administration, configuration management, and disaster recovery.
The role includes leading migrations from GCP to AWS and from EC2 into Kubernetes.
Collaboration with AWS and GCP technical account managers and consulting partners is essential.

Candidates must be experts in Amazon Web Services and have experience building secure, highly available multi-region web applications.
Mastery of advanced tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and SOPS is required.
High proficiency with cloud-hosted CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CircleCI is necessary.
Fluency in Python and modern scripting languages such as PHP and TypeScript is expected.
Experience managing data pipelines is essential.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in building and supporting cloud infrastructure in AWS is required.
Familiarity with GCP is necessary to support seamless service migration.
