Remote Staff DevOps Engineer, Core Infrastructure Engineering

Description:

• Crunchyroll is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to join their Core Infrastructure Engineering team in San Francisco, CA, or remotely within the United States.
• The role involves automating and scaling systems and services that power the streaming platform.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with the SRE team and delivery teams, leading projects related to infrastructure automation, scaling, and CI/CD.
• The engineer will develop tools and systems that support services and facilitate high-quality software delivery and architecture/infrastructure.
• The position requires a high level of collaboration across teams to understand needs, establish best practices, and automate processes.
• The role reports to the Senior Manager, Core Infrastructure Engineering.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 12+ years of relevant experience in DevOps and infrastructure management.
• A minimum of 8 years working in production environments, combining DevOps and software engineering, is required.
• At least 5 years of experience managing containerized infrastructure in Kubernetes or ECS is necessary.
• Proficiency in automation and creating reusable patterns and solutions is essential.
• Expertise in GitOps practices and CI/CD, including tools like ArgoCD and infrastructure automation within CI/CD, is required.
• Candidates should have 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud technologies, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
• Proficiency in TypeScript in a software engineering environment is necessary.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., DynamoDB) is required.
• Experience guiding software engineers in production best practices and sharing knowledge across teams is essential.
• Design and deployment experience with data sovereignty-driven designs (e.g., GDPR) is required.
• Willingness to be on-call is necessary.
