Remote Staff DevOps Engineer (Czechia)

Description:

• Azul is seeking an experienced Staff DevOps Engineer to join their distributed Platform team in Prague, Czechia.
• The company focuses 100% on Java and aims to build the Java platform for modern cloud enterprises.
• The Platform team is responsible for product building and distribution pipelines, shipping over 1000 binaries to customers worldwide with each release.
• The team also manages SaaS products using an "everything as a code" approach.
• Responsibilities include designing and implementing Proofs of Concept (PoCs), leading cross-team implementation projects, and producing system requirements and design deliverables.
• The engineer will support engineering teams, promote best practices, provide cloud expertise, and maintain company cloud environments.
• Automating and optimizing engineering processes, as well as coaching team members, are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience working as an architect or lead.
• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to deliver at scale as part of a team is essential.
• The ideal candidate should actively listen to other engineers and engineering teams.
• They should be inquisitive, continuously asking questions and verifying decisions with data points.
• The candidate must demonstrate a proactive approach to their work, ensuring their decisions have a company-wide impact.
