Remote Staff Engineer

Description:

• The company is a Digital Product Engineering company that builds products, services, and experiences across all devices and digital mediums.
• They are seeking a skilled Engineer with expertise in AWS Cloud, IaC, Python, and data processing with Athena to join their team.
• The role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of a Datalake platform by provisioning new infrastructure using Terraform, writing ingestion Lambda functions with Python, and developing new ingestion workflows on AWS infrastructure.
• Key responsibilities include participating in team ceremonies, developing new platform functions and infrastructure, supporting existing platform features, and learning new SaaS technologies like Metabase or Upsolver.
• The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an analytical mind.

Requirements:

• Experience with AWS Lambda, AWS Cloud Watch, Python development for ingestion using AWS Lambda functions, and writing Terraform HCL for IaC on AWS.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud monitoring tools like Cloudwatch and Cloudtrail, AWS Glue Catalog, Athena for processing data on S3, and AWS RDS (Postgres).
• Hands-on experience with managing AWS infra, including EC2 provisioning/management, autoscaling, and serverless processing.
• Good understanding of AWS IAM security model, Lambda, teamwork, motivation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English communication, experience in developer or engineering roles focusing on data retrieval, knowledge of AWS services and SQL, ability to troubleshoot errors, and working knowledge of test management software.
• Strong skills in Python and Terraform.
