Remote Staff Engineer

Description:

• Homebound is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer or Staff Engineer to join their engineering team remotely.
• The role involves providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, guiding them through complex challenges.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions, driving architectural decisions, and leading code reviews.
• The position focuses on frontend development, requiring the design and maintenance of complex applications using React and TypeScript.
• The engineer will take ownership of project lifecycles, estimate timelines, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• There is an emphasis on management development, with opportunities to gain insights into managerial responsibilities and participate in training programs.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, with a deep understanding of its advanced features and best practices.
• Extensive experience in building complex front-end applications using React.
• Strong understanding of modern web development practices, including state management and responsive design.
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL, including designing and implementing efficient APIs.
• Familiarity with tools like Apollo Client or Relay for integrating GraphQL into React applications.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, version control systems like Git, and testing frameworks.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• At least 7 years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Nice-to-have skills include experience with backend technologies, AWS, containerization, UI/UX principles, and consumer-facing applications.
