Description:
Culture Amp is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to join their Design System team in Melbourne.
The Design System team is responsible for in-house tooling and aims to create cohesive, intuitive, accessible, and delightful user experiences.
The role involves leading the technical vision and strategy for the design system and delivering high-priority outcomes to internal product teams.
The position is part of a cross-functional team that includes engineers, designers, product management, and delivery, all working in a remote-friendly and flexible environment.
Responsibilities include driving continuous improvements to design system tooling, coaching other engineers, and influencing the adoption of the design system across teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a solid understanding of systems architecture and programming.
Expertise in web platform fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, DOM, accessibility, performance, and responsive design is required, along with experience in modern JavaScript frameworks like React.
Experience in building large-scale JavaScript/TypeScript applications, including design patterns and component API design, is essential.
Candidates should have experience in creating a React component library that meets high-quality standards, including accessibility and responsiveness.
Experience in change management and communication of change at scale is necessary.
Candidates should be passionate about design systems and empowering other teams, able to influence without authority, and possess strong communication skills.
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently are important traits for this role.
