Description:
Culture Amp is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to join their Design System team in Sydney.
The Design System team is responsible for in-house tooling and aims to create cohesive, intuitive, accessible, and delightful user experiences.
In this role, you will lead the technical vision and strategy for the design system and collaborate with internal product teams to deliver high-priority outcomes.
You will drive continuous improvements to design system tooling and engineering processes.
The position involves coaching and uplifting other engineers and building connections with various teams to influence the adoption of the design system.
Requirements:
A solid understanding of systems architecture and programming is required.
Expertise in web platform fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, DOM, accessibility, performance, and responsive design is necessary.
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React, is essential.
Candidates should have experience building large-scale JavaScript/TypeScript applications, focusing on design patterns, component API design, and codebase health.
Experience in creating a React component library that meets high-quality standards is required.
Familiarity with change management and communication of change at scale is important.
Candidates should be passionate about design systems and empowering other teams.
The ability to influence others without authority and work collaboratively with diverse teams is essential.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary, along with a self-motivated and independent work ethic.
