Remote Staff Engineer - DevOps

Description:

• As a DevOps Engineer at Interview Kickstart, you will ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our infrastructure.
• You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable systems that support our platform and services.
• You will oversee and optimize our cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to ensure high availability, security, and scalability.
• You will develop, maintain, and enhance Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, enabling faster and more reliable software delivery.
• You will implement and manage automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment, using technologies like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
• You will establish and manage comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure.
• You will work closely with software development and IT teams to design and deploy robust solutions, troubleshoot issues, and improve overall system reliability.
• You will implement and enforce security best practices across the development and deployment processes.
• You will provide mentorship and support to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• You will participate in on-call issues, leading the troubleshooting and resolution of production issues to maintain the high availability and performance of our applications.
• You will participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new engineers, helping to uphold the team’s technical standards.

Requirements:

• You must have 4+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role.
• You should have strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) is required.
• You should have experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is necessary.
• Solid scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell are required.
• You should have experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• A good understanding of networking, security, and database administration is essential.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills are required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are necessary.
• Experience in managing and reducing technical debt is preferred.
