Remote Staff Engineer - Web Platforms

Description:

• The Staff Engineer - Web Platforms is responsible for designing and building solutions to enhance the technical systems/platforms/products within the team.
• They lead and empower technical practices supporting software delivery within product delivery/systems/platform teams.
• The Front End Practices team guides internal practices for front-end development at SEEK, focusing on Web Platforms & Tooling for building, deploying, and serving web applications.
• They manage their roadmap in consultation with the SEEK engineering and design community, embracing flexible working arrangements and open-source development.
• The role initially focuses on Web Platforms, leading how SEEK builds, deploys, and serves its web applications.
• Responsibilities include directing and contributing to SEEK’s technology strategy, building critical shared solutions, enabling outcomes for product teams, and upholding engineering discipline and quality.

Requirements:

• Experience in building Web Platforms, extending or building bundlers and transpilers.
• Experience in developing highly technical developer tooling at scale.
• In-depth knowledge of Browsers and Web Applications, including URL specifications and Web APIs.
• Technical knowledge of solution and application architectures, ability to visualize complex systems.
• Experience in implementing and maintaining tools for front-end development, building high-quality software, tooling, libraries, and frameworks.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and NodeJS for delivering web applications at scale, working with tools like React, Babel, ESLint, Webpack, or Vite.
• Experience in contributing to and understanding community mechanisms of open-source projects.
• Understanding of compiling source code, bundling web applications, and static code analysis.
