Description:
Sotheby’s is seeking an experienced and innovative Front-End Staff Engineer to enhance their front-end solutions and develop cutting-edge user interfaces.
The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and back-end engineers, to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performance-driven web applications.
The engineer will be responsible for leading architectural design and implementation of front-end solutions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Responsibilities include building responsive, accessible, and dynamic web interfaces using React with Typescript and Rescript, and maintaining a shared design library.
The engineer will promote best practices in front-end engineering, conduct code reviews, and ensure coding standards are met.
Performance optimization of applications across various browsers and devices is a key responsibility.
Staying current with emerging front-end technologies and trends is essential, along with communicating technical challenges and solutions to stakeholders.
The role also involves identifying initiatives to increase productivity across the front-end engineering organization.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of relevant software development experience in building, optimizing, and scaling responsive web applications.
A track record of driving projects with an improvement mindset and a solution-oriented approach to ambiguity is required.
Extensive experience with technologies such as React, Typescript, Next.js, Jest, and familiarity with Rescript is essential, along with knowledge of front-end CI/CD tool chains.
Candidates should have experience identifying and prioritizing issues with broad cross-team and organizational impact.
Significant working knowledge of GraphQL is required.
Experience in building and maintaining design libraries with an emphasis on accessibility is necessary.
Deep familiarity with DevOps and application deployment models, including Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS, is expected.
