Description:

  • The Staff Front-End Engineer position is a full-time remote opportunity based in South America.
  • The role involves working with a collaborative team to drive the technology of learning products and platforms.
  • Responsibilities include architecting scalable software solutions, implementing best practices, and creating highly performant and extensible technology.
  • The engineer will serve as a technical leader and visionary for complex systems, providing mentorship and shaping the overarching vision of the system.
  • The Acquisition team is responsible for the website, requiring experience in handling large-scale websites for high-traffic companies and architecting solutions.
  • Nerdy is a leading platform for live online learning, leveraging technology like Machine Learning and AI to connect learners to experts across various subjects and formats.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience with a focus on complex systems.
  • Strong expertise in web technologies, especially React/Next.js, and a willingness to learn new stacks.
  • Proficiency in modern software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectures.
  • Experience with AWS and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Capability to implement customer-facing solutions that address true customer needs.
  • Appreciation for Nerdy being an apolitical company focused on helping people learn.
