Remote Staff Front-End Engineer (South America)

Description:

• The Staff Front-End Engineer position is for a Full-Time Contractor based in South America to work remotely from Costa Rica.
• The role involves collaborating with Product and Design teams to develop learning products and platforms.
• Engineers at Nerdy actively participate in discussions on system and solution development.
• The position requires architecting scalable software solutions, implementing best practices, and creating high-performing technology.
• The Staff Front-End Engineer will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and contribute to shaping the vision of the system.
• The role focuses on enhancing the experience for tutors and optimizing the tutor-supply chain.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience working on complex systems.
• Strong experience with React and Typescript is preferred.
• Proficiency in setting up and maintaining CD/CI workflows for Front End services.
• In-depth knowledge of modern software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectures.
• Experience with AWS and the ability to learn new technology stacks quickly.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to code, review others' code, and implement customer-facing solutions.
• Appreciation for Nerdy's focus on helping people learn and commitment to the company's apolitical stance.
