Description:

Renew Home is seeking a highly skilled frontend Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems and web applications.
The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and providing technical expertise to drive innovation and excellence in software development processes.
Responsibilities include leading architectural design, taking ownership of the full software development lifecycle, mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with product managers and designers, conducting code reviews, tackling complex technical challenges, advocating for UI/UX and code quality, creating technical documentation, identifying performance bottlenecks, staying updated with industry trends, fostering a collaborative work environment, establishing best practices, and supporting service performance and stability.
The position requires working across various technologies including TypeScript, Remix, CSS, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS infrastructure, Git, and Jira.
Participation in agile practices such as daily stand-ups, peer code reviews, and team meetings is also expected.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a proven record of 10+ years of industry experience building web applications.
Experience in creating beautiful pixel-perfect user interfaces is required.
Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript frameworks is essential.
Candidates should be highly independent, capable of scoping, breaking down work, and driving completion of major initiatives.
Extensive experience with software design principles, architectural patterns, and best practices is necessary.
Familiarity with modern software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective teamwork.
Previous leadership and mentoring experience in a technical role is preferred.
A strong commitment to quality, performance, and continuous improvement is expected.
Candidates should have a passion for staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
The ability to work through ambiguity, along with excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with server-side rendering, web accessibility, database design and SQL, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

The position offers a competitive salary based on experience, with a base salary range of $170k - $220k.
