Description:
The Staff Fullstack Engineer at Mozilla will be responsible for designing, building, and owning the core systems, both front-end and back-end, that support advertising in clients such as Firefox, MDN, Pocket, Fakespot, etc.
They will lead multi-month projects, sequence deliverables, manage risks, and provide feedback on strategy and goals affecting the team.
The engineer will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with management, and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement to enable a culture of inclusion and allyship.
The role involves working on long-term projects impacting multiple teams, ensuring high-quality and maintainable software, participating in the development of privacy-preserving ad technology, and collaborating with front-end teams to support and extend existing systems.
The position requires working in a distributed team, taking initiative, and committing to Mozilla's values of welcoming differences, being relationship-minded, practicing responsible participation, and having grit.
Requirements:
7+ years of overall software engineering experience.
Proven ability to successfully lead and ship complex software projects.
Experience in working on complex backend systems at scale.
Proficiency in one of the following back-end technologies: Golang, Rust, or Java.
Expertise in one of the following front-end technologies: Javascript, React, or Node.js.
Ability to work in a loosely structured environment and lead the team to success.
Interest and ability to work in a distributed team with good asynchronous written and verbal communication skills.
