Remote Staff Infrastructure Engineer

• Cortex is looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to define the architecture of their infrastructure.
• The role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of scalable systems.
• Responsibilities include implementing core infrastructure technologies, providing technical direction, and collaborating with leadership and product teams.
• The Staff Infrastructure Engineer will cultivate a learning environment, uphold engineering standards, and optimize existing infrastructure.
• Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, 10+ years of experience in backend systems, strong problem-solving skills, and expertise in database technologies, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to building top-quality software.
• Profound understanding of computer science fundamentals, prevalent design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Expertise in database technologies.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proven track record in mentoring and coaching engineering team members.
• Previous experience at a hyper-growth startup is a plus.
