Description:
Netlify’s SRE team is expanding to support the growing platform and user base.
The team focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Netlify’s infrastructure while promoting innovation and operational excellence.
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you will lead organizational-level reliability strategies and address complex challenges.
You will collaborate with various teams to foster a culture of operational excellence and deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities include championing architectural vision, fostering reliability initiatives, setting technical standards, acting as a technical authority during incidents, mentoring engineers, designing reliability frameworks, leading architecture reviews, and developing reliability metrics.
Requirements:
Candidates must have significant experience in Site Reliability Engineering or similar roles, with at least two years of leading complex technical projects and mentoring senior engineers.
Deep expertise in cloud architecture and hands-on experience with global-scale solutions in AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
A proven track record of driving large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams and infrastructure is essential.
Candidates should have expertise in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is necessary.
Proficiency with Kafka or other messaging brokers in multi-cloud environments is required.
Strong experience in database management, including relational and NoSQL databases, is essential.
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages like Python, Go, or Bash is required for developing automation solutions.
Strong technical leadership skills and exceptional communication skills are necessary for influencing engineering decisions and presenting strategies to executive leadership.
A comprehensive understanding of reliability engineering principles and experience establishing technical standards is required.
Understanding of security best practices and experience with compliance frameworks like PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or SOC certifications is necessary.
Candidates must be based in the UK, Spain, or Poland.

The base salary for this role is targeted at £96,000 - £130,000 for most UK-based locations, with variations based on geographic location and market demands.
