Description:

Brightwheel is seeking an experienced Staff iOS Engineer to join the mobile team, focusing on maintaining and improving mobile platform architecture.
The role involves developing software solutions for complex product engineering projects that align with business goals and shipping impactful software for customers.
Responsibilities include leading complex projects, collaborating with product managers and designers, designing new software systems, and improving engineering velocity through best practices.
The engineer will proactively identify and diagnose reliability and performance issues, drive data-driven decision-making, and promote excellence in engineering processes and culture.
Mentoring peers and junior engineers, interviewing candidates, and fostering technical learning across teams are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience with iOS in a fast-paced team environment.
Deep technical knowledge of the iOS development ecosystem, including expertise in Swift and SwiftUI, is required.
Applicants should be confident in onboarding to projects with minimal guidance and comfortable designing and consuming REST APIs.
Familiarity with standard tools such as GitHub, Apple App Store, and common analytics/logging tools is necessary.
A limited understanding of legacy iOS technologies, including UIKit, storyboards, Objective-C, or RxSwift, is preferred.
Familiarity with modern cloud-based web architectures is a plus.
Essential people skills include a focus on business impact, clear communication, self-starting initiative, and a passion for teaching and learning.

Brightwheel offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $179,000 to $237,000, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
