Description:

Brightwheel is seeking an experienced Staff iOS Engineer to join the mobile team in a fully remote position.
The role involves maintaining and improving mobile platform architecture while collaborating with other Product Engineering teams to build user-facing products and features.
Responsibilities include developing software solutions for complex product engineering projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and performance, and leading complex projects involving multiple engineers.
The engineer will collaborate closely with product managers and designers to shape features, design new software systems, and improve engineering velocity through best practices.
The position requires proactive identification and diagnosis of reliability and performance issues, promoting excellence in engineering processes, and mentoring peers and junior engineers.
The engineer will also be involved in interviewing and evaluating engineering candidates to help grow the team.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience with iOS in a fast-moving team setting.
Deep technical knowledge of the iOS development ecosystem, including expertise in Swift and SwiftUI, is required.
Candidates should be confident in onboarding themselves to projects and comfortable designing and consuming REST APIs.
Familiarity with standard tools such as GitHub, Apple App Store, and common analytics/logging tools is necessary.
A limited understanding of legacy iOS technologies, including UIKit, storyboards, Objective-C, or RxSwift, is preferred.
Familiarity with modern cloud-based web architectures is a plus.
Essential people skills include a focus on business impact, clear communication, self-starter attitude, and a passion for teaching and learning from peers.

Brightwheel offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $179,000 to $237,000, equity, and benefits.
