Description:

Zscaler is seeking an experienced Staff Security Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team in a remote role.
The position reports to the Manager of IT Security and involves developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting enterprise IT security best practices across networks, applications, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint devices.
The engineer will collaborate with Zscaler product teams to configure, maintain, and support corporate instances, ensuring security parameters and best practices are up-to-date.
Responsibilities include assisting Security teams in scripting and automating repetitive tasks related to policy creation, incident response, and alert handling.
The role requires implementing zero trust solutions focusing on user-to-application traffic, workload-to-workload traffic, posture checking, and active detection across networks and endpoints.
The engineer will also deploy and manage cloud (CSPM) and data security (DSPM) policies, collaborate with environment owners for remediation, and optimize DLP alerts in coordination with security teams to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in IT security or a related field.
Experience with zero trust solutions is preferred, ideally with Zscaler Internet Access and/or Private Access, along with technologies such as identity verification, role-based access control, network segmentation, and posture checking.
A deep understanding of cloud architecture and cloud security challenges and solutions is required, as well as knowledge of operating systems (Windows/MacOS/Linux), networking, access control, and authentication.
Proven experience in scripting to automate complex IT problems is necessary, with flexibility in programming languages and familiarity with DevOps workflows.
Excellent reporting and analytical skills, particularly with tools like Excel and Sheets, are essential.
