Spindl, part of the Base team, aims to support this economy by providing developers with incentives to monetize their users and acquire new ones.
The Base Ads/Spindl team is developing the first natively onchain advertising product that features full-funnel attribution and analytics, along with a transparent and permissionless two-sided ads marketplace.
The goal is to surpass the sophistication of legacy internet marketing systems by leveraging blockchain's unique advantages such as transparency, seamless payment, better privacy, and shared consensus reality.
The Staff Machine Learning & Infrastructure Engineer will be the first MLE on the Base Ads team, responsible for building the ranking system from the ground up.
Responsibilities include selecting tools, utilizing diverse internal and external data sources, collaborating with Data Science on feature generation, and integrating models into the ad serving infrastructure.
The role offers significant impact and ownership from day one in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of industry experience as a machine learning and software engineer.
Experience in building and deploying backend systems at scale, particularly in data processing, machine learning, and analytics, is required.
Applicants should demonstrate core cultural values such as adding positive energy, clear communication, curiosity, and a builder mindset.
A curiosity for the crypto ecosystem and onchain data is essential.
Nice to haves include a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Statistics, or a related technical field.
Familiarity with technologies such as Apache Airflow, Spark, Flink, Kafka/Kinesis, Snowflake, Hadoop, and Hive is preferred.
Proficiency in Python and experience with model interpretability, responsible AI, data analysis, and visualization are also advantageous.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $218,025—$256,500 USD, depending on work location.
