Description:
The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will be part of the Financial Crimes Technology team at Cash App, responsible for detecting and reporting illegal and suspicious activity on the platform.
The role involves leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to monitor transactions, detect suspicious activity like money laundering, and proactively block payments in real-time.
The engineer will design, build, and enhance batch inference services and tooling to support AI models, unblock modelers with necessary infrastructure/tools, and lead by example in applying AI/ML best practices.
Collaboration with Financial Crimes, AI/ML Platform, and Product Engineering teams across Cash App and Block is essential for this role.
Requirements:
5+ years of combined Machine Learning and Engineering industry experience, with a preference for full stack ML experience.
A Masters or advanced degree in computer science, data science, or a related technical field is required.
Proficiency in Linux/OS X command line, version control software (git), and general software development principles with a focus on machine learning software development life-cycle.
Experience working with product, business, and engineering teams to prioritize, scope, design, and deploy ML models.
Familiarity with Python computing stack, MySQL, Snowflake, Airflow, Java/Go, and hosting models on public clouds like GCP, AWS.
