Description:

  • The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will be part of the Financial Crimes Technology team at Cash App, responsible for detecting and reporting illegal and suspicious activity on the platform.
  • The role involves leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to monitor transactions, detect suspicious activity like money laundering, and proactively block payments in real-time.
  • The engineer will design, build, and enhance batch inference services and tooling to support AI models, unblock modelers with necessary infrastructure/tools, and lead by example in applying AI/ML best practices.
  • Collaboration with Financial Crimes, AI/ML Platform, and Product Engineering teams across Cash App and Block is essential for this role.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of combined Machine Learning and Engineering industry experience, with a preference for full stack ML experience.
  • A Masters or advanced degree in computer science, data science, or a related technical field is required.
  • Proficiency in Linux/OS X command line, version control software (git), and general software development principles with a focus on machine learning software development life-cycle.
  • Experience working with product, business, and engineering teams to prioritize, scope, design, and deploy ML models.
  • Familiarity with Python computing stack, MySQL, Snowflake, Airflow, Java/Go, and hosting models on public clouds like GCP, AWS.
