Description:

Faire is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Platform Engineer to lead the design and execution of their machine learning platform for their wholesale marketplace.
The role involves building scalable and reliable systems to enable seamless software-driven machine learning deployment to enhance Faire's core metrics.
Responsibilities include designing and building machine learning systems like "Machine-Learning-as-a-service," feature store, deep learning infrastructure, and model prediction services.
The position requires partnering with internal customers to understand their ML development pain points, providing technical mentorship, and contributing to the long-term strategy and team growth.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in building production machine learning systems or platform components.
A degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a similar field is required.
Strong coding skills in Python/Java or equivalent are necessary.
Experience working within common backend system architectures like microservices is essential.
A solid understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices, along with general software development principles with a machine learning software development life-cycle orientation, is expected.

The salary range for this role in New York City is $209,000 - $288,000 per year.
The position is eligible for equity and benefits, with the actual base pay determined based on factors like transferable skills, work experience, and market demands.
