Stack is developing revolutionary AI and advanced autonomous systems to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency in modern operations.
The Static World Perception team generates road elements that govern traffic flow for actors within the driving environment.
This is achieved by integrating various onboard data sources, including a priori maps, LiDAR, cameras, GPS, and other available information.
As a Staff Engineer or Senior Staff Engineer, you will lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of algorithms and systems to meet online map performance standards.
Responsibilities include delivering state-of-the-art online and offline mapping algorithms and systems for L4 self-driving vehicles.
You will contribute to the technical direction of the team and broader perception organization.
The role involves writing robust software for real-time, resource-constrained, safety-critical applications.
You will drive highly cross-functional features and work streams from problem statement to delivery.
Proactively identifying limitations with the existing online mapping system and driving improvements is essential.
Strong presentation and communication skills are required to align stakeholders.
You will lead challenging technical topics and build consensus within the team.

Requirements:

Extensive experience in architecting, training, and deploying deep learning models into real-world environments is required.
A track record of driving applied research projects from start to completion, including conception, problem definition, experimentation, iteration, and publication or productization is necessary.
Experience in delivering perception/mapping solutions for real-time robotic applications is essential, with prior experience in sensor fusion and/or online mapping being highly desirable.
Strong experience in software engineering and machine learning algorithm design is required.
Fluency in Python is mandatory.
Experience with C++ is also required.
